The Laws
Like any law these can be broken, revised, amended and passed by a rational majority vote of those governed by it.
*Agreed exception on law 2a*
~
Please also refer to ProBoard's
community guidelines and
terms of service, these are like the Constitution, and below are our sovereignty's laws beneath those governing laws.
Causing our board to break any of ProBoard's laws will result in total annihilation, your account and all posts made my you will be destroyed, your character will be explained away as a figment of our imagination, etc. In other words, we don't like that.
********************
1.) Unless otherwise stated by the universal laws or moderator(s) of the universe, no character shall be “God” or made up of “God-like” powers. This includes, but is not limited to, totally impenetrable, undefeatable, impossible to be killed, etc.
a.) No superpowers of any kind allowed unless approved by administrators, kittymunst3r, k80, or chanfransisco. This includes abilities such as psychic abilities, supersonic hearing, lazerbeam eye-shooting, etc. Superpowers do not fit into our universe, but some certain hyper-awarenesses may.
2.) Sexual Acts
a.) (*)Rape or molestation from player to player of any kind is not tolerated in any universe. (Consent from both players does not matter) This not a negotiable rule.
Definition of character Rape or Molestation:
If the character is unwilling or inappropriately coming into contact with malicious intent from another character or NPC* guided by another player. *Non-Player Characterb.) Pornographic material other than text (photos, audio files, etc.) is not acceptable in game play or OCC. *Out of Character Chat
c.) No sexual acts. YOU MAY NEVER ROLEPLAY SEXUAL ACTIVITIES AS PER PROBOARDS RULES. Any violators will be banned.3.) One-liners – Also known as RP killers. Novels are nice, short stories are great and so are a couple sentences. One-liners are one sentence replies to whatever is being addressed. This law is not punishable unless majority rules for amendment, but don’t expect to find liked or tolerated by fellow players.
4.) Theft (Ideas or otherwise) – No stealing of layouts, material IC* written by other players, usernames, character bio’s, etc. *In Character Thread
5.) Drama stays at the door. There’s an OCC thread for personal chatting but no one wants a constant dragging through drama all the time. You’ve been warned, what other people say will be modded when necessary. That said, character-to-character drama shouldn’t cause RL* drama. Work it out between yourselves outside the RP group. Ask a mod if you need help as a mediator. Mods are to remain unbiased, this means NOT choosing sides in any matter of disruption among the RP group. *Real Life
Remember you are IN CHARACTER, so no conflicts you OOC have with another person should bleed into the IC world. Multiple infractions will result in a "Time Out", a forced hiatus for a short amount of time.
6.) Retiring your character – This means ending, killing off, removing, etc. your character from the RP group. You’ll want to do this if you’re going offline for a bit, vacation, etc. The group must be informed, or your character is left hanging, therefore leaving your RP group hanging. This law is just common courtesy. You’re welcome to bring your character back at any time if they’ve been retired, unless they’ve been directly killed in action.
(If you wish, and express this wish to a Mod or Admin, we can come up with an appropriate way for your character to disappear for a short while in a way that they can return after your hiatus)
7.) Golden Rule – Treat others how you would like to be treated. Keep it nice folks, keep it golden.
(This is of course, not to say that characters cannot have altercations with one another, just don't make things personal)
8.) No single person is devine in ruling, especially moderators. These “laws” are meant to make sure everyone has a say in what they abide by while roleplaying. That said, if there ever is a discrepancy about a moderator or other person in the group that interferes with these laws and codes of conduct, make contact with someone in the group. The majority rules in all cases but 2a*. (If there is a discrepancy over 2a*, there are plenty of other RP groups that might allow it. Join them. It’s not changing. Period.)
9.) Scavenging. Your character must scavenge any items that play a role in survival, like food, medications, extra clothing, first-aid, water, and weapons (unless your character can fashion the weapons out of found materials, like sticks, rocks, animal bones, etc.) before using them in play.
If your character uses any un-scavenged items that they did not receive in their starter kit, they will be punished through a random scenario (attack by zombies, rabid animals, etc.) or looting of items your character does own by marauders. This may also count as a minor infraction in extreme cases of scavenging cheating.
b.) You may only roll once per character, per day. If you accidentally roll more than once in a day for one character, only your first result will be counted. (This is a non-punishable offense)
c.) Majority of Status Effects need an action on your end. If, for example "an item of your choosing" is removed, you must select the item to be taken out of your inventory.
If your character experiences an Injury or Illness, they will have a time limit to gain a certain cure or first aid combination. You may exchange items within the time limit in
Scavenging Details>Status Effects, by posting that you have the needed items. You must notify us here for the status to be removed.
d.) These statuses should also be represented in your RP, if you are injured (you usually get to choose the injury to go with your RP), you need to include this somehow as you RP, i.e. a limp, cough, sneezing, etc. Failure to accept your Status Effects can result in a Warning.
10.) Trades.
a.) No threats, you may not intimidate another character into trading with you. If you *kill off* a character in the Bartering Hall you will be punished, the transaction cancelled, and that character will be resurrected. Please note that the character has no obligation to play along with this death in the first place.
b.) Trades must be mutually accepted. See "How To" on the Bartering Hall for details of how to complete a transaction.
11.) Death (PvP & Other)
a.) Player to Player combat with characters must be agreeable to both parties. No players can die from another players character without consent to retirement of their character.
b.) Death or becoming mortally wounded from a NPC or result from scavenging event. Ex. You didn't get meds in time and will "die". This "death" will result in retirement of character until another character (your #2 or another player) can help meet your requirements to survive. (The meds) *Talk to Matron Maggie if you really need help finding an item, but she knows when you're just trying to take the easy way out.
12.) The Character Sheet - This is modded and approved by staff so when it comes to specifying the inventory to your characters please remember that you are a single person. You can't be carring with you • a chainsaw • (5) gallons of gas • (50) days worth of food, etc. You get the point. This rule is more out of how to have fun with the game. A few things are fine, but remember you are going to have to go scavenging for food, etc. at some point so lets keep it reasonable.
